Grapes are all grown on the estate at Numana. The vineyards lie on the foothills of Monte Conero about one km from the coast. Soil: The land is formed of brown calcareous soil overlying marl and gravel, dating from the lower pliocene and pleistocene. Grape Variety: Chardonnay. Production: Must from fully ripened grapes is cooled and then fermented with selected yeasts at controlled temperature in order to preserve the rich fruity flavours. A small percentage of the wine has been fermented in barrique. Organoleptic qualities: Colour: pale yellow. Bouquet: fresh ripe fruit with gentle tro- pical tones. Taste: very fruity with a touch of oak. |
